The latest release from Hikari Toys is a *bakeneko* (supernatural cat)! It features the "Bakeneko Courtesan"—a figure from Edo-period folklore—depicted here in the magnificent, ornate attire of an *oiran* (high-ranking courtesan).

The comb and hairpins adorning the head utilize parts typically found on traditional Japanese dolls.

The neck, waist, and two tails are articulated.
